Madhuri Dixit-Nene became the sixth Bollywood celebrity to be honoured with a wax likeness by Madame Tussauds, London, on Wednesday.
The wax figure was dressed in a Manish Malhotra sari.
The 44 year-old actress was welcomed with a garland as she arrived to view her brand new wax figure.
"I am thrilled to be here in Madame Tussauds unveiling a wax figure of myself. It’s incredible just how detailed the figure is – they have captured my look beautifully! I feel very humbled to be included alongside other Bollywood stars and some of my personal heroes," Madhuri said in a statement on the museum’s official website.
The actress is famous for her performances in ’Tezaab’, ’Ram Lakhan’, ’Sajan’, ’Beta’, ’Hum Aapke Hain Kaun’, ’Dil Toh Pagal Hai’ and ’Devdas’.
After her marriage to US-based doctor Shriram Madhav Nene, Madhuri shifted her base to Denver and bid adieu to Bollywood in 2002.
But the actress recently relocated to India with her husband and two sons. The actress was last seen in the film ’Aaja Nachle’, which failed to create magic at box office.
However, the dancing queen struck the right chord with her fans when she appeared on the small screen as the judge of dance reality show ’Jhalak Dikkhla Jaa 5’.
Madhuri now joins Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan at the attraction.(Agencies)
